Jamie McKenna was born in Esperance, Western Australia and later moved to Perth to attend university where he studied commerce and started a successful career in finance. Jamie worked for several companies around Australia and abroad. Jamie has travelled extensively in Australia, New Zealand, Asia’s, U.K, Europe and South America, and learnt to speak Spanish and Swedish along the way.

Jamie’s adventurous spirit has inspired him to travel whenever he can in whatever way possible. He has travelled around South America and Europe by ‘Combi’ and even attempted to ride his enduro motor bike around Australia! This Aussie’s insatiable appetite for adventure led to his involvement in the Australian army as a rifleman and sparked his interest in hobbies such as four wheel driving, off-road motor bike riding, camping, SCUBA diving, spear fishing, snow boarding, boxing, kite boarding and kayaking to name a few…

Having worked abroad in Ireland, UK, Sweden, Israel and Argentina, Jamie knows exactly what issues the working holiday maker faces. This knowledge and his thirst for travel and adventure in one way or another led to the birth of Go Workabout. Jamie’s fun-loving nature has been mirrored in the philosophy of Go Workabout. His adventurous and fun-loving personality, coupled with his extensive travel and working abroad experience has created a man who knows what a good working holiday is all about!
